Geoffrey Kemper Dailey, age 65, beloved husband of Ann (Carroll) Dailey, of Pottstown, PA, died Sunday evening, July 15th, 2012 in his home.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was a son of Marjory K. (Smith) Dailey, of New Holland, PA, and the late Robert H. Dailey.
He was a veteran of the US Army. Mr. Dailey graduated from the West Chester University, and with honors from Central Atlantic School of Banking, Bucknell University. He worked over 38 years in banking, for Continental/PNC and recently retired from National Penn Bank.
Mr. Dailey was a member of the Church of the Epiphany Episcopal Church, Royersford, where he served on Vestry, and as Accounting Warden, as well as singing in the choir. Mr. Dailey was active in the Pottstown community over the years serving as leadership in many non-profits and area service clubs. He served on the following: Board of Directors, Assistant Treasurer of the Pottstown Symphony Orchestra; Chair, Lower Pottsgrove Township Planning Commission; Board of Directors, President, Pottstown Area Industrial Development, Inc.; Board of Directors, Chairman, Tri-County Area Chamber of Commerce; Board of Directors, Montgomery County Library.
In addition to his wife of 30 years, Mr. Dailey is survived by: two children: Jean, wife of Jeff Chernesky, of Pottstown, PA, Elizabeth Caldwell, of Spring City; four grandchildren: Justin Rakowski, Jamie (Jeff) Chernesky, Jackson Chernesky, and Julia Shay Huey.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial service at the Church of the Epiphany Episcopal Church, 209 South Third Avenue, Royersford, PA 19468 on Saturday, July 21st, 2012 at 10:00 AM. Officiating will be the Rev. Jennie M. Anderson. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Friends will be received from 9:00 - 9:45 AM Saturday morning at the Church. Memorial gifts may be made to the Church at the above address.
