Black & Decker recalled their Spacemaker 12-cup Programmable Under-the-Cabinet coffeemakers. Black and Decker has received nearly 1,300 reports of the handles of the coffee pot handles breaking, including 68 reports of burns and cuts from the breakage.

The coffeepots are designed to mount under a cabinet and have the words “Black & Decker Spacemaker” printed in the top right-hand corner.

Recall model numbers include: SDC740, SDC740B, SDC740BR, SDC740C, SDC740DIS, SDC740R, SDC750, SDC750C and SDC750DIS.

Model numbers can be found or the bottom of the coffeemaker, directly below the water reservoir.

The coffeepots were sold at major retailers nationwide between July 2008 and March 2012 for $50-80.

Consumers should stop using the coffeemakers and contact Applica for a free replacement immediately.
