Lansdale Man Charged with Attempted Burglary

State police respond to attempted burglary call and were able to locate perpetrators with the help of a witness. Of the two alleged suspects, one is Lansdale resident Patrick Brumbaugh, 20

Patrick J. Brumbaugh, 20, of Lansdale, and Gregory Eagle, 29, of Pottstown, are charged with attempted burglary after an incident on July 23 in the unit block of King Road, Salford Township, police said.

According to a report issued by Pennsylvania State Police Skippack barracks, between 9:15 and 9:30 a.m. July 23, a burglar alarm went off at a building on King Road, and a vehicle was seen fleeing the scene.

Following a broadcast to area police patrols, police stopped a vehicle matching the witness's description at Lower Frederick Township Fire House, police said.

The witness recognized it was the vehicle he had seen at the burglary, and Brumbaugh and Eagle were arrested, police said.

The two are charged with attempted burglary, criminal tresspass, criminal mischief and possesion of an instrument of crime.

Both were arraigned July 23 before District Judge Catherine Hummel Fried in Red Hill and remanded to Montgomery County Correctional Facility after they failed to post $25,000 cash bail, police said.

A preliminary hearing is set for August 7 at 2:15 p.m. before Fried.

This is Brumbaugh's first criminal offense in the state, according to court records.
