Bizarre Behavior Leads Police to Manatawny Creek

Police discover two dazed men, one in the creek and another lying on the bank.

Two men were treated at Pottstown Memorial this afternoon after police assisted one of them out of Manatawny Creek, and another was discovered lying nearby.

The Pottstown Mercury reported that police were called to the scene of a man allegedly who had allegedly jumped from a pedestrian bridge into the creek, according to a witness.

Pottstown Police Officer Greg Fritz encouraged the man to swim towards the sound of his voice, then assisted him out of the water. The man found lying on a concrete slab on the banks of the creek was fully clothed and wasn't wet, police said.

Because they both appeared to be dazed, police speculated that the two men could be under the influence of something, but they were unsure exactly what, and could not confirm their suspicions.

The pair's conditions are unknown at this time.
