Cut-A-Thon For Victoria Today
Stylists at Pottstown's Great Clips, 223 Shoemaker Rd., today will donate their tips at a Cut-A-Thon for 5-year-old Victoria Feldman, who is battling cancer.
Victoria Feldman has been through an awful lot in the last three months and faces a tough road ahead, but the little girl's determination always shines through, said her aunt.
Victoria, 5, was diagnosed in October with a malignant brain tumor. She underwent surgery, 30 radiation treatments and rigorous physical, occupational and speech therapy to help her regain mobilities she lost.
Now, she faces a year of aggressive chemotherapy, said her aunt Danielle Sykes.
"Victoria is very strong willed," Sykes said. But the girl also requires great care for her illness. "She needs constant watching for now."
To help the Feldman family pay for medical expenses not covered by insurance, costs incurred in traveling to medical facilities, a special nutrition formula Victoria needs and other bills, Great Clips salon will host a Cut-A-Thon fund-raiser from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. February 5.
Sykes is friends with one of the stylists at Great Clips, who told others at the salon of Victoria's illness.
"The stylists decided to donate all tips from the day of the Cut-A-Thon to go to the family," said Rama Attaluri, co-owner of Great Clips which opened roughly six months ago.
The fund-raiser will also include a bake sale, he said.
Victoria and her sister Coral, 9, are students at Ringing Rocks Elementary. Their brother Dillon, 12, attends Pottsgrove Middle School.
Coral and Dillon are great helpers to Victoria, their mom Renee and dad Roger, Sykes said.
The American Red Cross recently brought Roger Feldman, a U.S. Army National Guardsman, home from active service to spend time with Victoria and the family, Sykes said.
She said she's grateful the salon wants to help the Feldman family.
"They are more than generous," Sykes said of the stylists. "It's a good community event."

Wow.....they couldn't donate ALL proceeds, including ALL services done today to this little girl? It's very nice of the girls to donate their tips, but it would be even better if the business would donate whatever is made today to her.
What goes around comes around......the more good you do for others, the more it comes back to you.
God Bless Victoria.......I pray that this little girl stays strong throughout her treatments and beats it. Cancer is a horrible disease. These days it seems we are all touched by it in one way or another, whether it be by having it ourselves, or being close to or knowing someone who does have it. It isn't easy going through it. Victoria needs all the love, support and prayers that she can get. Please be generous.

The business is donating proceeds as well; from the services provided today and from products sold today. The tips being donated by the stylists are in addition to the donation being made by the business.
