Heritage Field to Host Fly-In of Historic Plane

Discover aviation at EAA Chapter 1250's Fly-In on Heritage Field next month.

The world of flight is inviting you to discover more in your own area, as EAA Chapter 1250, Inc of Pottstown - Limerick is hosting a Sport Aviation Home Building Fly-In at the Heritage Gathering of RV’s (the RV is the most popular home built kit airplane in the world – over 7,600 completed and flying) on Sunday May 6, 2012 at Heritage Field, formerly, Pottstown Limerick Airport in Limerick, PA.

EAA Chapter 1250, Inc is one of nearly 1,000 local chapters of the Experimental Aircraft Association, the world’s largest organization for recreational flying. EAA’s mission is to grow participation in aviation through flying, building, restoring and volunteer outreach that encourages all who wish to participate.

Among the activities at EAA Chapter 1250’s event are the “fly-in” home built aircraft flight arrivals, departures, static displays, model aircraft, astronomical telescope setup, operational ham radio station, possible airplane rides in the planning, good food and the once in a life time opportunity to see Van’s original and only RV-1 on a historic national tour stop on its way to permanent display in the EAA AirVenture Museum in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.

The event will be held at Heritage Field, formerly Pottstown – Limerick Airport on business route 422 at Airport Road, about 2 miles east of the Sanatoga exit off the 422 expressway.   Follow the “fly-in” signs off Airport Road to gain access to the Southwest  gate and enter the airport show grounds. Check for weather conditions and updates at http://www.1250.eaachapter.org  Event hours are from 12 noon to 5 pm. There is no admission or parking charge.
