National Weather Service Adds Possibility of Strong Storms to Excessive Heat Advisories
Severe thunderstorms tonight could produce damaging winds, but they might be just the break we need to get out of this heat wave.
In addition to the National Weather Service's Hazardous Weather Outlook - Excessive Heat Warning in effect with temperatures around 100 and Heat Index of 110, the Storm Prediction Center warns of a risk of severe thunderstorms tonight into tomorrow, with the possibility of damaging winds.
The good news is that while these storms could be strong, they appear to foreshadow the beginning of the end of this extreme heat wave, with high temperatures expected tomorrow around 92 degrees, and on Monday, highs of only around 84.
