Pottstown Kicks Off 2013 Honoring Its Own
The borough rings in the new year honoring community leaders.
There wasn't a red carpet but many were honored for their dedication and service to Pottstown at the recent borough council meeting.
According to a report in the Mercury, several community leaders, both past and present, were honored for their service to the town during the Pottstown Borough Council's Jan. 9 meeting.
"At the head of the pack numerically was a resolution honoring Robert Hartman Sr., longtime engineering inspector who retired after 52 years of service with the borough," said the article.
"Kenneth Guss, a streets department laborer with the borough for 43 years, who also retired in 2012," was honored according to the article.
“He’ll be missed by us because I see him working all the time faithfully,” said Mayor Bonnie Heath during the meeting's presentations.
Other honored guests at the meeting included:
- Ron Downie, 40 years of service to the borough
- Jim Frymoyer, over 25 years of service
