Pottstown SCORE Offers Small Biz Classes This Fall

Workshops aim to help new and existing small-business owners get their dreams off the launch pad.

 

The local nonprofit Pottstown SCORE (Counselors to America's Small Business) is planning a workshop series this fall, "How to Start and Operate a Small Business, on Mondays beginning Sept. 10.

Positively Pottstown reports that the seminar, from 7 to 9:30 p.m., on four consecutive Mondays, will be held in SCORE's High Street office. Parking is available in the lot behind the building.

Topics will include:

  • Sources of Information and the Tax and Legal Implications of the Different Legal Structures, Sept. 10
  • The Business Plan and the Business Loan, Sept. 17
  • Sources of Market Information, Marketing, Sept. 24
  • and It's All About Profit, Oct. 1

The workshop is open to those considering starting a business, or currently operating a small business.

Registration for each workshop begins at 6:45 p.m. Class starts promptly at 7. Each session is $25, plus an additional $20 for a manual on preparing a business plan. Register for all four courses and get the manual free.
