Pottstown could move next week to hire a consultant to review the borough's beleaguered Codes Department.
The Pottstown Mercury reports that the Codes Department, which it says is the subject of a grand jury investigation, could undergo a 10-week analysis by the borough's engineering firm, Remington & Vermick, at a cost of about $34,000.
Pottstown police chief and acting borough manager Mark Flanders said money would need to be "re-allocated" into the Codes department in order to pay for the review.
Pottstown Borough Council meets Oct. 8 at 7:00 p.m. at 100 East High Street.

Isnt this why we have a Borough Manager? Why pay a firm $34,000?. Why not just wait til a new Manager is hired, and save the money? This is like throwing money away.
