Pottstown Woman Stabbed in Her Home

Pottstown Police responded to reports of a woman being stabbed in the 800 block of Queen Street last night.

A Pottstown woman was stabbed multiple times in her home on Queen Street, shortly before 11 p.m., Tuesday night, according to a Pottstown Mercury report.

Lissette Lopez, 42, of the 800 block of Queen Street, was watching television in her bedroom when she was assaulted by what witnesses describe was a black man, possibly in his 30s, police said. The man was unknown to Lopez, and he fled the scene before police arrived.

When police arrived on the scene, Lopez was discovered lying on the street, where she had evidently collapsed after the stabbing, police said. She was conscious, and was transported to Reading Hospital and Medical Center.

Lopez's daughter and her daughter's friend were also in the house at the time of the stabbing. The two heard the assault take place.
