Local students are taking a stand against texting while driving by sharing the caveat that no message is worth a life. Educators in PAC-10 high schools across the region will share this point on May 4 when the schools jointly host the first Don’t Text and Drive Awareness Day.
The PAC-10 schools -- which include Pottstown, Pottsgrove, Pope John Paul II and Boyertown -- will share a public service announcement video concerning texting and driving to their students, which will discuss the dangers and consequences of the practice and how it can result in injury and death. Following the video, students will be asked to sign “Don’t Text and Drive” pledges. Those vows will be placed on display in a prominent location in each respective school.
