Update: 4 p.m. 5-22-12
Montgomery County District Attorney Risa Vetri Ferman and Pottstown Police Chief Mark Flanders today announced the arrest of Roger Tracy Malloy.
The charges stem from a fatal crash, where Roger T. Malloy was the alleged driver, according to a news release from Ferman's office.
"It was a single car crash where two of the defendant’s passengers died and a third was critically injured," the release states. "After being involved in the crash Malloy fled the scene of the crash without rendering aid and without providing any information to law enforcement."
After an arrest warrant was issued this morning and media reports that he was a wanted man, an anonymous call came into the Pottstown Police Station indicating the area where the defendant could be found, the release states.
"Detectives from the Pottstown Police went to the area and observed the defendant trying to flee down a street in the Borough on a bike. The Detectives were able to cut off his flight path and apprehend him," the release states.
The defendant will be arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Edward Kropp, Sr., 2093 East High Street in Pottstown.
The investigation continues.
