Recall "Hoeffel" he clearly represents his own interest and not the people he was elected by. An investigative reporter should checkout his business arrangements both formal and otherwise! We in Montogomery County pay far more of everything in the state than other folks, School Taxes, Medicare insurance etc. Time to put a stop to it!

All the people who pay tolls on 422 will still have to pay taxes to fix other peoples' roads, which makes it un-fair taxation. When 202 and 309 needed large improvements, nobody forced toll booths on them. The governement never planned to keep 422 in good shape, because they realized they could push tolls on us at later time. BUT, the road was never designed for tolling, just local commuting. There is no proof that tolls or a train line will fix the traffic, and there is no proof that the toll money will make the road any safer. The governemnt took our taxes and still allowed 422 to crumble, how strong is their word now?

Great job Teresa, a subject that won't go away but needs a forum to discuss. Speaking as someone who uses 422 probably six times a day, It would be ridiculous to pay tolls all day and I would probably have to find additional jobs....Or maybe I could take the subway, oops forgot there is none. I agree with William that politicians should represent the peoples interests that got them elected and not have their own agenda, which appears in this case to be happening.
Also what aboput the bottle necks that would be created if their were toll plazas scattered throug out the 422 corridor. Has any one tried to drive through Collegeville now at 8 am or at 4 pm . It takes more than a half hour on average to drive from the bridge entering Collegeville to the Augustus Church that signifies the Trappe borough line. It is three miles and it takes 30 minutes now, can you imagine how snarled traffic would be with additonal people, who could not afford the tolls abondonding 422. UUUGGGGGHHHH
They need to come up with a proposal to build an additonal bridge at Betzwood, one for each way to break up the morning grid lock, Perhaps a toll at the bridge only, as they have it along the Delaware, the bridge is where it backs up any way so waiting at a toll plaza may even break up the traffic and spread it out. Thanks for the story..

If 422 becomes a toll road, people will use it less; this will cause even more congestion on the local roads. Right? Am I crazy? This defeats the part of the purpose for building the highway in the first place! Right?
