Anyone who lives or travels South of Pottstown is familiar with cellular dead spots. A coverage hole, better known as a 'no-service area', exists for approximately 12,000 residents ranging in areas of North Coventry, South Coventry, Pughtown, East Nantmeal and Warwick townships. The number of those affected significantly increases when you factor in those who travel throughout the area.
For those frustrated with the lack of coverage South of Pottstown, relief is on the way.
The base of the new antenna tower, seen here, rests on a concrete footer and spans 160' above the ground. The mast will house antennas for up to six cell phone providers.
To date, T-Mobile and Sprint will lease the tower with antennas for their networks. No other carriers have announced interest at this time.
