Activists to Rally for Immigration Reform in Norristown

The immigration reform supporters will rally in Norristown and then travel to the congressional offices of Jim Gerlach in Trappe and Pat Meehan in Blue Bell

Norristown will find itself to be a platform for immigration reform on Wednesday, when immigrants, union members, faith leaders, and DREAMers will gather at Los Potrillos Taqueria at 12 p.m. on West Elm Street, to rally, and then travel to the congressional offices of Congressmen Patrick Meehan (Blue Bell) and Jim Gerlach (Trappe), according to the Service Employees International Union (SEIU).

DREAMers are the young, undocumented immigrants who wish to be involved in an immigration amnesty program.

According to the SEIU, the activists will focus on new data from an American Action Network report that suggests that the current Senate immigration bill would create 12,416 new jobs in Meehan’s district and 13,033 new jobs in Gerlach’s district.
