The Tyanna Foundation raises money for breast cancer detection and treatment.

“The money that we raise goes to local hospitals to help pay for a mammography bus,” George, who works in King of Prussia, said.  “The bus goes around to neighborhoods where women can’t afford mammograms, and if cancer is detected the money we raise also helps pay for treatment.”

This was the “This” that George’s friend pulled her into.  Baltimore is the headquarters for the Tyanna Foundation, and before she knew it, George was on the board helping to organize the annual BreastFest.

When George made the move to Philadelphia, BreastFest came with her.

“This will be our third one in Philadelphia,” George said.

On Saturday, September 28, the fourth annual BreastFest will be held at Mad River in Manayunk from 3-8 p.m.
