Family Who Lost Daughter to Cancer Wants To Make a Difference

The family of a Pottstown High student who passed away from cancer wants to help the Ronald McDonald House, who helped them to be near their daughter during her treatment.

Kati and Vince Artis lost their daughter Alexa, a Pottstown Senior High School student, to cancer, and they want to give back to an organization that helped them stay near to her during her treatment, according to someone knowledgeable of the matter.

Alexa had to stay in a Philadelphia hospital for weeks of treatment.  During this time, her family was able to be close to their daughter because of the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House. Now, Kati and Vince want to be able to help other families to have the opportunity to be close by to loved ones.

In their daughter’s memory, they are partnering to adopt a room at the Ronald McDonald House.  To support their efforts, guests can take part in the “Designer Purse Bingo” event to be held on Sunday, Nov. 10th at the North End Fire Company. The fire company is located at 301 Prospect Street in Pottstown, PA.
