Ice Storm Day 3: 280,000 Without Power

Some may not have power restored until next week.

About 280,000 homes in the region still are without power, PECO announced Friday morning, saying that so far it has restored service to more than 435,000 customers.

The majority of the remaining outages are in Chester County, PECO said, explaining that the outage numbers for our region look like this:

• Bucks County = 65,000
• Chester County = 95,000
• Delaware County = 23,000
• Montgomery County = 87,000
• Philadelphia County = 5,000

You can see PECO's outage map here.

Additional crews from as far away as Arkansas have been brought in to help PECO restore power, the utility company said.

In an updated note to customers, PECO wrote that it hoped to have service restored for many by Friday evening, but cautioned that "some customers will be without service throughout the weekend and, possibly into early next week."

The company's customer service line still plays an automated message saying service should be restored for most by Sunday. You can call at 1-800-841-4141.
