Pottsgrove Community Mourns the Passing of Recent Grad

Damon Carter, a standout high jumper, died last week from an apparent seizure, sources say.

Only two weeks after receiving his diploma at Pottsgrove High School, Damon Carter suffered a seizure late June 28 or early June 29, according to the Pottstown Mercury.

A celebration of his life will be held July 5 at 10 a.m., in the lobby of Pottsgrove High School, where Damon's family will greet friends in relatives. A memorial service will follow at 10:45 a.m., in the high school's audotirum.

A reception will be held from noon to 1:30 p.m., in the cafeterial, followed by a lap walk around the Pottsgrove track in honor of Damon. His mother requested that all track athletes in attendance wear track t-shirts or track gear.
