Residents Urged to Boil Water

A water main break has affected the water quality at multiple addresses.

Because of a water main break, residents in certain areas of Pottstown are being urged to boil their water before using it.

If you live:

  • From 911 High St. to 1035 High St.;
  • From 51 Edgewood St. to 79 Edgewood St.;
  • 938 Walnut St.;
  • From 936 Chestnut St. to 944 Chestnut St.
you should boil your water, Pottstown said.

The borough offered the following instructions for residents:

Residents in the affected should NOT DRINK THE WATER WITHOUT BOILING IT FIRST. Bring all water to a boil, let it boil for one minute, and let it cool before using, or use bottled water. Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and food preparation until further notice. Boiling kills bacteria and other organisms that may be in the water.
