Ricketts Community Center to hold 'Community Blockbuster' Saturday

The Ricketts Community Center will open its doors for a day of food, fun, and giveaways.

The Ricketts Community Center in Pottstown, of the Olivet Boys and Girls Club, will hold a ‘Community Blockbuster’ on Saturday from 12 p.m. to 5p.m., according to The Mercury.

Guests will be treated to performances and vendors, and Morningstar Fellowship will contribute children’s activities and free hot dogs.  Guests of the high school age can play in a basketball tournament.

About 200 children will receive free backpacks that hold free school supplies, due to the work of the Community First Development Corp, according to Olivet director Janice Burgess.  The stuffed backpacks were put together with elementary school and middle school children in mind.
