MontCo's John Oates Nominated for Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

Hall & Oates joins Nirvana, KISS as nominees for the 2014 induction. Oates attended North Penn High School and grew up in North Wales Borough.

North Wales Borough's own John Oates--one half of 1980s rock and R&B superduo Hall & Oates, with Pottstown's Daryl Hall--has been nominated with his music partner for inclusion in the 2014 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Nominations were announced Wednesday morning, per Rolling Stone.

Hall & Oates join Nirvana, KISS, Deep Purple, The Replacements, N.W.A., LL Cool J, Linda Ronstadt, Cat Stevens, Yes and The Zombies, among others, on the nomination list, according to the report.

Oates was raised in North Wales Borough on Tenth Street. He is a graduate of North Penn High School.
