According to AAA’s Fuel Gauge Report, West Texas Intermediate crude oil prices increased $2.21 per barrel to settle at $105.23 yesterday. The increase was attributed to investment dollars entering the market on the first day of formal trading to begin the second quarter.
Gasoline prices across the U.S. continue to rise as tight supplies and refinery concerns keep upward pressure on prices.
The current national average retail price for a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline is $3.923 up 15.9 cents from last month. In Pennsylvania, today’s average price of self-serve gasoline is $3.932 up 15.5 cents from a month ago and 29.2 cents higher than a year ago. In the Lehigh Valley, the average price for self- serve regular unleaded gasoline is $3.897 per gallon which is 14.4 cents higher than a month ago and 29.7 cents higher than a year ago. In the Philadelphia market, the average price for self- serve regular unleaded gasoline is $3.908 per gallon which is 13.7 cents higher than a month ago and 28.2 cents higher than a year ago.
