What's the Best 'Staycation' Around?

If you have a day or two off and want to do something fun and close to home, where do you go?

We know what's happened with gas lately, and it's enough to keep us all home. But whether your limitation is gas or time, where do you vacation when you don't want to hop on a plane or drive for days?

This week's Readers' Choice poll asks what is the best stacation in the region?

The possibilities:

If you vote "Other," please tell us in the comments what that other place is!

If there’s another local spot that we missed, tell us in the comments section below.

Vote for your favorite in the survey below and remember to click on the links above and rate the park on its Patch Directory listing. You can even leave a review.

The poll closes at 9 a.m. Friday.

The winner will be determined by the Patch editor, based on poll results and reviews on Patch Directory. Please vote only once per survey, per Patch.

If you prefer to get your bats, gloves and sticks outside of the Lower Macungie Patch area, vote for the best park in a neighboring Patch: Emmaus Patch, South Whitehall Patch, Upper Macungie Patch or .

My g/f and I go up for the night on Fridays every cpl months. You can stay at the "hotel switzerland" for 90 dollars. http://hotelswitzerlandjimthorpe.com/ Broadway pub hotel is a little nicer and little more expensive. We go up hike the glen, then dinner (My favorite restaurant is MOYA. http://www.jimthorpemoya.com/) then live music at molly mcguires. They always have great bands on fridays. Get up next day lots of breakfast options and stroll the shops a little. It's great.

My vote goes to the velodrome (aka Valley Preferred Cycling Center). Great family friendly professional sports right here in our own back yard. General admission is only $5 and kids under 12 are free. Great organic food from Rodale catering, reasonable beer and wine prices.
