Customers Bank Food Drive to aid Greater Berks Food Bank

Wyomissing, PA ­– Customers Bank has announced a Holiday Food Drive to help give needy local families a chance to enjoy a happier holiday.

The Food Drive began in November and ends Friday, January 3rd for the benefit of the Greater Berks Food Bank.

Customers Bank branches located in Berks County will serve as collection points for nonperishable food items such as canned goods, bottled juices, cereals, peanut butter, packaged snack items, coffee, tea, dry pasta, rice or grains, and other appropriate items.

 

In addition, the bank branches will accept items for infants, such as baby shampoo, lotion, diapers and wipes. Personal hygiene items, including shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrushes and bath soap are also welcome.

 

“Many people are still struggling to make ends meet,” explained Richard Ehst, President and Chief Operating Officer of Customers Bank. “As part of our commitment to the community we serve, we at Customers Bank want to try to make this holiday season a little brighter for families in need.”

All items donated at the branch locations as well as at Customers Bank office facilities will be given to the Greater Berks Food Bank for distribution to local families.

 

In addition, Customers Bank will sponsor a “Jeans Day” on Friday, January 3, 2014, to help support the Greater Berks Food Bank. On Customers Bank Jeans Days, employees are encouraged to wear jeans (and sometimes their favorite sports team jerseys) in return for a minimum $2.00 donation to a designated charity for the day. Additional donations are also welcomed.
