Chestnut Knoll turns Greshville Inn Pink while Raising Money for Relay for Life

Chestnut Knoll Personal Care and Memory Care is thrilled to announce that in one night, they were able to raise $1,000 in cash, plus a percentage of food and beverage purchases donated by Greshville Inn for the Relay for Life Cancer Walk. Chestnut Knoll hosted a fundraiser at Greshville Inn, where 10% of the sales were donated to the Boyertown Relay for Life Cancer Walk occurring in June, in addition to cash donations.

Chestnut Knoll first started the Relay team in Boyertown three years ago and has donated approximately $10,000 to date. This year the team goal is to raise an additional $10,000.

“The community support is always so touching,” said Shawn Barndt, executive director. “From friends to family members, volunteers, residents, and community members – everyone joins in and has a great time for a good cause!”

Many guests came to Greshville Inn to join the Chestnut Knoll staff and management team for the evening, and enjoyed dinner and drinks from Chestnut Knoll guest bartenders.

In addition, various “levels” of cash donations were tracked and posted at the event to help turn Greshville pink! As cash goals were met throughout the evening, various pink props were placed around the venue to slowly turn Greshville pink.

Chestnut Knoll Relay captain Jennifer Diehl reports that joining the Boyertown Relay has not only added to the overall Relay event through additional funding provided by the team, but it has brought an additional camaraderie to the residents, family members, volunteers, and staff who have joined together in order to raise funds for a good cause that often hits too close to home for many.

“We love that this is yet another way that we, the employees of Chestnut Knoll, can give back to our community!” said Barndt. “What we have found that we love even more is the additional moments of joy and great memories and friendships that we are making during the process!”

In addition to the Relay event, Chestnut Knoll also participates in the annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s. To date, the community has raised and donated over $120,000 for the Alzheimer’s Association.

“I am so proud to run a community that cares not only for our residents, clients, and staff, but also for the greater community in which we do business and live!” said Barndt.
