Candlelight Ceremony Commemorating National Homeless Person's Memorial Day

The TriCounty Community Network (TCN) Homeless
Services Committee will be commemorating National Homeless Persons’ Memorial Day with a Candlelight Ceremony remembering those who have passed away in the region this past year.  The event, being held one day prior to the national day of recognition, will include remarks from Kathy Phifer, director of Housing & Community Development for Montgomery County and Linda Higgins, pastor at Zion United Church of Christ.  The purpose of the event is to raise awareness of homelessness and the resources available in the community to help
individuals and families secure a place to live.

TCN encourages local business members, community members and families to attend this event to learn more about reducing homelessness and the associated health
risks.  Men’s sweat socks and long johns for men, women and children will be collected at the event.
