This is my first blog so I would like to introduce myself. My name is Beth M. Werner. I live in Pottstown Pa. and have my business, Good Dogs Spa & Studio in North Coventry. I have been grooming since 1991. After graduating from Philadelphia Dog Grooming School, I opened a boarding and grooming kennel in Maryland. From 1993-2005 the business had many clients for boarding, grooming and as a kennel producing Champion AKC Border Terriers. In 2005, I moved back to Pottstown and became the first salon manager of the new Petsmart. After being injured on that job I left to work at my sister's hair salon, Reflections Hair Designs as their receptionist and computer tech.
At the time my uncle had Uncle Walter's Grooming Room. He became ill and asked me to help with his business. When he could no longer work, he gave me the business. I changed the name to Good Dogs Spa & Studio in August of 2010. Since then I have been rebuilding and updating the business. A new hydraulic lift table was added, recirculating wash system, 3 unit dryer, Clipper Vac and much more. Newer services were added also, PlaqClnz teeth cleaning, Deshedding, Handstripping, Breed styles, and just recently Asian Fusion Styling. The spa now has a retail area with grooming supplies & equipment, canine jewelry & accessories, stationary, hand painted slate & artwork. Since I was 16, I have been a freelance artist. My specialty is pet portraits and animal artwork. A full range of subjects is in my portfolio, including but not limited to home portraits, children, florals, tattoo flash.
