GETTING TO THE “GUTS” OF IT

Pottstown High School Healthcare Technology students demonstrated their artistic skills in a classroom project turned contest. Instructor Michaela Johnson challenged the students to diagram the major organs of the digestive system on a tee-shirt. It did not take long for the students’ competitive juices to begin to flow and develop a school-wide contest. Each student used their academic knowledge of the human digestive system and complimented it with their imagination and creative spirit to develop eye catching tee-shirts. Tee-shirts were displayed in the main hallway of the high school and students and teachers had opportunity to vote for their favorite. When the dust cleared and the votes were counted Kasia Butts was declared the winner. Ms. Johnson said, “I am very proud of my Advanced Healthcare Technology students. Learning Anatomy and Physiology is no easy feat but they proved not only that their academic skills but their artistic skills in this tee-shirt design contest were at a high level. All students worked hard on their project and definitely had opportunity to show their individualism and flaunt their artistic skills.”
