This event will be held in the synagogue’s social room, located at 575 N. Keim St., Saturday, Oct. 19, at 7:00 pm.

Event organizer and congregation member Mark Pastor, also lead singer and musical director for the NorrisTones, says the evening will be packed with great entertainment. “The NorrisTones and Chris Rich will kick things off by performing a 45 minute set and a 30 minute set. Following that, DJ Tony Giardina will spin tunes for dancing. To cap off the evening, both the NorrisTones and Chris Rich will return for another 45 minute and 30 minute set, respectively,” Pastor describes.

While enjoying the entertainment, everyone is also invited to enjoy an array of snacks, desserts, and beverages.  The evening will also include a 50-50 raffle and a silent auction. Congregation president Janet Prince says, “Among the great items to be auctioned there are Eagles tickets, restaurant gift certificates, autographed books, cookbooks, jewelry, and an array of lovely gift baskets.”

“This is the largest fundraiser for our congregation and we want it to be fun,” Prince explains. Since it is a major fundraiser, tickets can be purchased at three price points: silver/$35, platinum/$50, and gold/75, and “donations are also very welcome, even if you cannot attend,” Pastor notes. “Regardless of the price paid, everyone will enjoy the same terrific evening. Though we hope those purchasing tickets will choose the highest price point that is comfortable for them, we also wanted to keep it affordable for all. We want everyone to be able to attend,” Pastor concludes.

Talented Performers Headline Evening

Specializing in well-known songs from the 50s - 70s, the NorrisTones originated in the Norristown area in 1999. The group’s goal is sharing and keeping alive the Doo-Wop music they love.  Group members have an impressive list of accomplishments that include singing lead on songs released on 45 rpms in the early 60s, entertaining American servicemen and women, and working as disc jockeys on both regular and internet radio. They have been show openers for groups like Johnny Maestro & the Brooklyn Bridge and Kenny Vance and the Planotones, in addition to performing at Philadelphia’s  WHYY Connections Festival this past September. Pastor is an original group member.  “The NorrisTones were very popular at our November 2011 Sock Hop,” says Prince, “so we are excited to have them back.”

“Showcased at the hottest clubs in NYC, Vegas, and Atlantic City,” comedienne Chris Rich has also entertained American troops on USO tours. Her career began as an actress, singer, and dancer in dramas, operas, improvisational theater, and musicals. Eventually she became a member of the resident company at the Walnut Street Theatre, and performed at the Trenton Civic Opera, Bucks County Playhouse, and at The Actors’ Playhouse in NYC. These experiences led her to create a one-woman, stand-up comedy show that garners rave reviews. Rich’s TV credits include “Comedy Central,” ABC’s “The View,” and the Lifetime Network. Pastor shares that he “worked with Rich previously at a few local shows and he contacted her because he feels her humor will be well-matched to the congregation audience.

Enthusiastic about this event, Prince says, “Last year’s Anniversary Gala was very well-attended and this year’s event promises to be even better with the addition of the NorrisTones to the program. We wanted to do something that would be great fun for both the congregation and the community. The evening offers something for everybody, so come on out and ‘Let Us Entertain you!’ “
