Pottstown's Elmer B. Swenson Dies At 94

He served in World War II in the U.S. Army, later co-owned and operated Swenson's Garage in Royersford for 45 years.

 

Elmer B. Swenson, 94, passed away on Tuesday at Tel Hai Retirement Community in Honey Brook. He was the husband of Thelma (Barlow) Swenson.
He was born in Pottstown to the late Bernhard and Charlotte (Anderson) Swenson. He served in World War II in the Army and later co-owned and operated Swenson's Garage in Royersford for 45 years.

Mr. Swenson was a member of Brownback's United Church of Christ.
In addition to his wife of 69 years, he is survived by his daughters Linda, wife of Wayne Butz, Wayne; and Jane, wife of Tom Dunlap, Honey Brook; grandchildren Stacey, wife of Ryan Metz, Chester Springs; Lindsay Dunlap, Washington, DC; Alex Butz, Wayne; and Bradley, husband of Amber Dunlap, Parker, Colorado. He is also survived by his twin great-grandchildren Amelia and Jeremy Metz.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2012 at Brownback's Cemetery at 11 a.m. Officiating will be Rev. Frank L. Lamson. Online condolences may be offered at www.royersfordfuneralhome.com. Arrangements are by , Royersford, PA.
