Fire Deeply Damages Lower Pottsgrove House

A fire that blazed a bit after midnight almost destroyed a Lower Pottsgrove house on Pinehurst drive on Monday, according to The Reporter.

Several fire companies responded to the emergency that is said to have started in the back porch of the house, which is located on the first block of Pinehurst Drive at approximately 12:15a.m..

“A neighbor had called it in and said they had a problem, a fire,” said Lew Babel, the Lower Pottsgrove Fire Marshal.

According to Babel, the three residents of the house were able to escape, and no firefighters were harmed.

It took the firefighters about 30 minutes to extinguish the blaze and about three hours of overhaul.

Babel said that the house was extensively damaged, and approximately $150,000 to $200,000 worth of damage was done.

The cause of the fire is unknown and an investigation is taking place.
