Homeless Man Sentenced for Pottstown Arson
Brian Staub, 38, received a sentence of 11 ½ to 23 months in county prison after pleading guilty to setting fire to a vacant Pottstown apartment.
A homeless man has been sentenced to 11 ½ to 23 months in county prison, following a guilty plea to felony arson charges stemming from a March fire in a vacant Pottstown apartment.
According to a report by the Pottstown Mercury, Brian Jay Staub, 38, received the sentence as part of a plea agreement. In addition to prison time, Staub will also have to complete four years of probation, as well as any recommended drug or alcohol treatment.

The fire occurred around 8 a.m. on March 25, at a vacant apartment on Manatawny Street. A witness stated that they had seen Staub leaving the apartment prior to the fire, according to the Mercury's report.
