Mother Facing Charges for Encouraging Daughter to Fight at School

Raquel Rosario, 43, was allegedly captured on video encouraging her daughter to fight another girl outside of an area high school.

A mother is facing nurmerous criminal charges after she was allegedly captured on video encouraging her daughter to fight another girl at the Citadel in Reading.

According to a report by 69 News, Raquel Rosario, 43, was allegedly captured on video shouting words of encouragement to her daughter as she fought a girl outside of the Intermediate High School on January 3. Police allege that the girls sister, Precious Irizarry, 22, also encouraged the fight, which lead authorities to charge her, as well.

A seperate report in the Reading Eagle states that Rosario's daughter called her during the school day to inform her that she planned to fight another girl after school. Rosario, along with Irizarry, arrived a short time later, and once school was let out, investigators said that Irizarry yelled at her sister to attack the other girl.

In a video posted on Facebook, both Rosario and Irizarry were allegedly seen standing over the girls and encouraging the fight. When later questioned by police, Rosario stated that she was trying to protect her daughter, but when police informed her that they had viewed the video, Rosario stated that she had gotten caught up in the moment and made a mistake, the report states.

Rosario and Irizarry were both charged with criminal solicitation, riot, terroristic threats, simple assault, reckless endangerment and harassment. Both were released on $50,000 unsecured bail

The daughter was charged as a juvenile with riot, simple assault, reckless endangerment, disorderly conduct and harassment. The other girl involved in the fight was issued a summons for a summary offense.
