New York Man Convicted of Drug and Firearms Charges

A New York man was convicted in the Montgomery County Courthouse of illegally possessing marijuana along with a loaded handgun as he sat in a Pottstown parking lot in his Dodge Caravan on Dec. 30, 2012, according to The Reporter.

Wendy Demchick-Alloy, a Montgomery County Judge, convicted Tyrone T. Walker, 33, of Westbury, of possession of drug paraphernalia, firearms not to be carried without a license, and possession of marijuana.  The judge then revoked his bail.

“This gun was ready for firing. I find he is a danger to society,” Demchick-Alloy said.

Before trial last week, Walker was free on a cash bail of $15,000.  After the conviction he was put in handcuffs and taken by the county’s sheriff’s deputies.

Demchick-Alloy will sentence Walker later this year in connection with the Pottstown incident on East High Street.
