OMG PD: The Bigger They Are, The Harder They Are to Taser

This week's stories include a large man who withstood multiple rounds of a Taser before being placed under arrest, a allegedly drunk delivery guy who got lost in someone's yard, and an allegedly drunken man who called the cops for a ride.

The Bigger They Are, The Harder they Are To Taser: According to a report in the Pottstown Patch, a 62-year-old man is facing charges of DUI, resisting arrest, and related offenses, in connection with a traffic stop on Feb. 2.

After the 6-foot-6, 245 pound man allegedly became uncooperative during the stop, police attempted to subdue him with pepper spray, but the effects were "negligible." The man then allegedly doused an officer with an open jar of whiskey, at which point police tased the man twice, with no effect. 

The man was tased a third time, which finally broke his grip on the steering wheel and allowed police to force the man out of his car and onto the ground. Read the full story here.

Drunken Philadelphia Pizza Guy Gets Lost, Crashes into Rock Garden in Upper Dublin, Police Say: According to a report in the Upper Dublin Patch, a 51-year-old delivery man from Philadelphia got lost while out on a delivery and ended up crashing his truck into a rock garden in Upper Dublin.

Upon police arrival, the man allegedly failed field sobriety tests and had a blood-alcohol content of 0.182 – more than twice the legal limit in Pennsylvania. Read the full story here.

Another Dope Brings Dope to Prison (Redux): According to a report in the Perkiomen Valley Patch, another visitor was arrested and charged after they were allegedly caught smuggling drugs into SCI Graterford.

This time, a 19-year-old woman was allegedly found to be in possession of a large amount of crack cocaine. She was charged with multiple felonies and a misdemeanor, and after failing to post bail, she was placed in the Montgomery County Correctional Facility. Read the full story here.

Drunken Man Call Cops for Ride Home, Police Say: According to a report in the Abington Patch, a 50-year-old man was issued a non-traffic citation after he called police for a ride home because he was cold.

The report states that when police arrived, the man was no longer there. They later found the man, intoxicated, walking a nearby road. Read the full story here.

Overcooked Pizza Shuts Down Road in Whitemarsh for 30 Minutes: According to a report in the Plymouth-Whitemarsh Patch, the Spring Mill Corporate Center was evacuated and a nearby street was shut down after someone smelled a "suspicious odor" and triggered the fire alarm.

Multiple fire companies were dispatched to the scene, only to discover that the "suspicious odor" was a pizza that had been left in the over too long. Read the full story here.
