Update: Pottstown Alleged Killer Found in Victim's Car
Edwin Carrero is currently in the Broward County Jail awaiting extradition proceedings.

The Montgomery County District Attorney's office issued a news release that confirms the arrest of Edwin Carrero for the murder of Alicia Schmidt, 31.

On February 2, an autopsy was performed on the deceased by the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office.
"The cause of death was broad ligature strangulation; the manner of death was homicide," the release states.

On February 7 at roughly 2 a.m., an officer from the Seminole Tribal Police in Broward County, Florida encountered Carrero in the parking garage of the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Hollywood, Florida.
"Carrero was inside Alicia Schmidt's car," the release states and adds that a Florida license plate was displayed on car. "The defendant was taken into custody without incident. Carrero is currently in the Broward County Jail awaiting extradition proceedings."
The case will be prosecuted by assistant district attorneys Wallis Brooks and Heather Levandowski.
