Pottstown Man Charged with DUI

A Pottstown man is facing charges of DUI following a late-evening traffic stop on Thanksgiving Eve.

According to a report by the Pennsylvania State Police, Anthony Rutherford, 22, was stopped at the intersection of Ziegler Road and Metka Road, in Limerick, at 11:44 p.m. on Wednesday, November 21. The report states that police allegedly observed Rutherford driving erratically, "following too closely and speeding." Upon contact with Rutherford, police allegedly observed signs of alcohol impairment, and Rutherford allegedly failed several field sobriety tests, the report states.

Rutherford was later transported to the Skippack Barracks for a chemical breath test, and charges will be filed with Judge Walter F. Gadzicki at District Court 38-1-19.
