Pottstown Man Charged With Multiple Felonies For Allegedly Stealing Mailbox Key

Brian Nicolosi, 27, has been charged with two felonies and three misdemeanors for allegedly breaking into a home along the 2000 block of Walnut Ridge Estates and stealing a mailbox key.

A Pottstown man has been charged with multiple felonies and misdemeanors after allegedly breaking into a home along the 2000-block of Walnut Ridge Estates and stealing a mailbox key.

Brian Nicolosi, 27, has been charged with one felony count of burglary, one felony count of criminal trespassing, as well as misdemeanor charges of theft by unlawful taking or disposition, receiving stolen property, and resisting arrest, in connection with the alleged break-in.

According to court records, the owner of the home contacted the police at 2:33 p.m on November 7 to report the break-in, stating they had left a door and window open while they were gone between the hours of 7 a.m. and 2 p.m. The home owner indicated to police that the only thing missing was a mailbox key, and that they believed it had been taken by Brian Nicolosi, whose mail is delivered to their home, the records state.

The records also indicate that a witness allegedly observed Nicolosi entering the property at 9:30 a.m., and two other witnesses allegedly observed Nicolosi exiting the property through the front door at 10:07 a.m.

While conducting their investigation, members of the Lower Pottsgrove Police Department encountered Nicolosi at Famous Fat Freddie's Pizza on High Street, where they allegedly found the key in his possession. Nicolosi initially resisted arrest, but was quickly taken into custody, the report states.

According to a report by the Sanatoga Post, Nicolosi was previously taken into custody by the LPPD on May 31, 2012, when it was discovered that he was wanted in the state of New York on burglary charges.
