Pottstown Police Now Using CrimeMapping to Track Crime

The website shows locations of crimes committed.

Though tracking crime is nothing new, Pottstown police have started doing it in a more public way.

Pottstown is now using crimemapping.com to track crime committed in the area, The Mercury reported.

CrimeMapping provides information about recent criminal activity. "Our goal is to assist police departments in reducing crime through a better-informed citizenry," its website says.

Pottstown pays to use the service, The Mercury said, but members of the public can use it for free.
