Pottstown Police Reports: Theft from Home, Vehicle

A homeless Pottstown man has been charged with felony counts of burglary and criminal trespass in connection with an incident along the unit block of North Evans Street on November 16.

A homeless Pottstown man has been charged with felony counts of burglary and criminal trespass in connection with an incident along the unit block of North Evans Street on November 16.

According to court documents, police responded to the residence for a report of a possible theft from an apartment. as well as a nearby vehicle. Witnesses stated that they allegedly saw a black male enter the residence and exit with a black bag. Upon exiting the apartment, the suspect allegedly stole a red power saw from a nearby pickup truck. Witnesses also stated that a white male was seen waiting nearby.

Police later identified the black male as 24-year-old Desean Evans, after he allegedly sold the saw and a DVD player to Cash Traders for $25.00. Evans allegedly stated that be believed the items were scrap, so he scrapped them, according to the report. When asked if the white male was involved in the burglary, Evans declined to comment.
