Pottstown Woman Forges $439 in Checks Belonging to Whitpain Man, Police Say

A Pottstown woman allegedly forged $439 in checks belonging to a Whitpain man and deposited them into her TD Bank account, police said.

Sharon Stenz, 41, of the 600 block of Chestnut Street was arrested by Whitpain Township Police this month on charges of forgery, theft, receiving stolen property and writing bad checks, police said. 

Police said they received a report on Dec. 18, 2012 that Stenz had allegedly forged checks belonging to the Whitpain resident and deposited them into her account at TD Bank at 1799 Swede Road. A warrant was issued for her arrest, police said.

Stenz was arraigned by District Judge Robert Sobeck, who set bail at $5,000 cash, police said. Stenz was then remanded to Montgomery County prison.
