Got Talent? Pottstown Wants to Hear It!

The borough seeks local skill sets to fill the "bank."

You know you've got it. Now show it.

Pottstown Borough is seeking some local talent. Why? It wants to fill its Talent Bank.

The borough's mayor, manager and council are working to fill a "bank" of skilled local workers that can assist in various projects in the community.

What would these talented individuals do? According to the borough's website, they are designated "to serve on its various Boards, Commissions andwork projects for the Borough."

Here are some of the duties the borough needs to fill:

  • Blighted Property Review Committee (1 meeting/month)
  • Cable Communications Commission (1 meeting/month)
  • Civil Service Commission (as needed)
  • Codes Board of Appeals (as needed)
  • Environmental Advisory Council (1 meeting/month)
  • Historic Architectural Review Board (1 meeting/month)
  • Human Relations Commission (1 meeting/month)
  • Planning Commission (1 meeting/month)
  • Pottstown Borough Authority (1 meeting/month)
  • Pottstown Downtown Improvement District Authority (1 meeting/month)
  • Vacancy Board (as needed)
  • Zoning Hearing Board (as needed)

Hmmm, title caught my eye because we are offering our SECOND ANNUAL GOT TALENT Show on Saturday 4/20/13 at 6 p.m. Pottsgrove HS, tickets $10 in advance, $15 at the door to benefit American Cancer Society. We hosted the auditions this past Saturday at the Coventry Mall, picking 12 very talented singers and dancers!! I know you are looking for a different kind of "talent" but this is a fun one!!
