Two Pottstown High School Students Will Join School Board

The Pottstown School District school board will choose two high school students to join the board as non-voting members.

Two Pottstown High School students will now have a place on the school board as non-voting members, thanks to a Pottstown School District school board vote at their Monday, Aug. 19 meeting, according to The Mercury.

“We recommend that one current junior-year student and one senior-year student join the board, with an alternate from each class asked to serve for those selected students if they cannot attend a particular meeting,” according to the policy adopted by the board.

The student members “will be expected to relay discussions” at committee of the whole and workshop school board meetings to their student peers through video homeroom announcements and morning announcements.
