Gilbertsville Goalie Getting Noticed
Max Strang has been the Atlantic Hockey Association's Goaltender of the Week twice so far this season.
A college senior from Gilbertsville is getting noticed at the highest levels of collegiate hockey this winter.
For the second time this season, Max Strang was honored earlier this week as the Atlantic Hockey Association's Goaltender of the Week. Strang is the starting goaltender for the Lakers of Mercyhurst University, who play in Men's Ice Hockey Division I of the NCAA.
He earned his latest honor for a 5-0 shutout win over the University of Connecticut last weekend, in which he made 40 saves.

Strang, in his second season as the Lakers' starter, has a record of 8 wins and 4 losses to go with a 2.73 goals-against-average and .922 save percentage in 13 games. It's his second season as the Lakers starter.
Mercyhurst, which is located in Erie, Pa., has compiled a 9-5 conference record so far this season and is in second place in the Atlantic Hockey Association.
