Pottstown Area Hot Spots to Cool Off

How are you beating the heat? Here's some 'cool' ideas.

It's hot outside, and the heat index is expected to reach 104 degrees today. Here's a few ideas to get out of the house and stay cool today in the Pottstown area.

The West Pottsgrove Township Community Pool has daily rates for individuals and families and is open noon until 7:30 p.m.

The Hickory Park Community Pool in New Hanover Township also offers daily rates for individuals and is open noon until 7 p.m.

Children registered for the Pottstown Regional Public Library's Summer Reading Program can join in on the fun events throughout the week including:

  • Funky Pens at 4 p.m. on Thursday, July 18
  • Flyswatter Flowers at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 19
  • Lunch at the Library, at noon on Friday, July 19
  • Beyond the Reef at 4 p.m. on Friday, July 19

Jungle Wonder in Limerick has indoor black light miniature golf, with elephants, monkeys, tigers, and more. Play with day-glow putters and fluorescent balls.

Jungle Wonder is open 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday through Thursdays, 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. Check out their website and Facebook page for a special on the Family Deal through July 23.

Take the kids to the Reading Public Museum,  500 Museum Road in Reading, for a planetarium show. Public weekday shows are held Monday though Friday at 4 p.m. and Sundays at 1 p.m., 2 p.m., 3 p.m. and 4 p.m.
