Ruth T. (Christman) Moser, age 94, wife of the late David B. "Sonny" Moser, of Upper Providence Township, formerly of Stowe, PA died Friday, August 31, 2012 in the Parkhouse Providence Pointe, Upper Providence Township, PA.  Born in Spring City, PA, she was a daughter of the late Jacob and Edith (Bailey) Christman.  Mrs. Moser is survived by two grandchildren: William R. Poper, of Birdsboro; Russell W. Dorothy E. (Rutter) Asbert, age 94, wife of the late Edward Asbert, of Collegeville, PA, died early Monday morning, July 30, 2012 in the Sanatoga Center, Pottstown, PA.  Born in Conshohocken, PA, she was a daughter of the late George and Frances (McCann) Rutter.  She worked at the Philco Ford in Spring City and the CPI plant in Valley Forge for many years.  Mrs. Asbert enjoyed traveling with her husband for many years. WWII Vet Succumbs to Injuries from June 4 Fire

James March, known for his generosity, is described as "not your average person," by family.

James I. March, 89, of Pottstown, died Tuesday as a result of complications related to injuries he sustained in a June 4 fire in his home. In a Pottstown Mercury story, March is described as an extremely kind and generous man, with an especially soft spot in his heart for the less fortunate, including animals. He "was the most giving person," March's daughter, Judy Wagner, told the Mercury. In addition to Wagner, March is survived by other children: Bruce, Sandra and Debbie, and grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his cat, Taffy, who was discovered in the home three days after the fire, Wagner said. He was a veteran of the 8th Air Force in World War II, and received the Purple Heart and two battle stars for his …

Esther L. (Giorgio) Morris, age 46, wife of Timothy J. Morris, of Spring City, PA, died early Sunday morning, July 15, 2012 in her home.  Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was a daughter of Marie E. (Angelini) Giorgio, of Spring City, PA, and the late Girard N. Giorgio.  She was a 1984 graduate of the Owen J. Roberts High School.  Mrs. Morris was an excellent seamstress and owned her own shop in Pottstown, "Esther's Alterations". Pottsgrove Community Mourns the Passing of Recent Grad

Damon Carter, a standout high jumper, died last week from an apparent seizure, sources say.

Only two weeks after receiving his diploma at Pottsgrove High School, Damon Carter suffered a seizure late June 28 or early June 29, according to the Pottstown Mercury. A celebration of his life will be held July 5 at 10 a.m., in the lobby of Pottsgrove High School, where Damon's family will greet friends in relatives. A memorial service will follow at 10:45 a.m., in the high school's audotirum. A reception will be held from noon to 1:30 p.m., in the cafeterial, followed by a lap walk around the Pottsgrove track in honor of Damon. His mother requested that all track athletes in attendance wear track t-shirts or track gear. Read Damon's story here.

Obituary: James L. Keeley, 48

Of East Coventry; born in Pottstown; OJR graduate; June 25

James L. Keeley, age 48, husband of Irene (Smith) Keeley of East Coventry Township, Spring City, died on Monday morning in his home.  He was born in Pottstown to Ruth E. (Hamilton) Keeley and to James L. Keeley Sr., husband of Karen Keeley. Jim attended Owen J. Roberts High School. After school, he went to work for Bachman of New Jersey and then he was employed at Marvel Builders for fifteen years. Most recently, he was a truck driver for Venezia trucking.  Jim was involved with Relay for Life and a member of the Pikeville Sportsmen’s Club. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Robert B. Deibler, 61, husband of Sandra L. (Smith) Deibler, of Pottstown, passed away on Wednesday, June 20, 2012, in the Temple University Hospital, Philadelphia.  Born in Wilkinsburg, PA, he was the son of the late Robert B. Deibler and Katharine (Kunkle) Apple, of Souderton. Mr. Deibler was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, Pottstown, and had been employed as an electrician for the former Doehler-Jarvis in Pottstown and JBS Packing in Souderton.  He enjoyed his cats and was an avid golfer who especially loved golfing with his buddies. Pottstown's Elmer B. Swenson Dies At 94

He served in World War II in the U.S. Army, later co-owned and operated Swenson's Garage in Royersford for 45 years.

  Elmer B. Swenson, 94, passed away on Tuesday at Tel Hai Retirement Community in Honey Brook. He was the husband of Thelma (Barlow) Swenson. He was born in Pottstown to the late Bernhard and Charlotte (Anderson) Swenson. He served in World War II in the Army and later co-owned and operated Swenson's Garage in Royersford for 45 years. Mr. Swenson was a member of Brownback's United Church of Christ. He was an Auto Mechanic, employed by a number of dealerships in the area including Knopf Chrysler Plymouth in Ambler and Gateway Nissan in Norristown prior to his retirement in 1999.

  Francis Edward "Ed" McDaniel, 78 of Gilbertsville, formerly of Ambler, died Thursday May 24, 2012 at the Lehigh Valley Medical Center in Allentown, PA after an extended illness. Born in Ambler, PA, he was the son of the late Charles S. and Lillian (nee Fadeley) McDaniel. Ed was a graduate of St. Joseph's School in 1948 and of Dobbins Technical High School in Philadelphia class of 1952. He was an Auto Mechanic, employed by a number of dealerships in the area including Knopf Chrysler Plymouth in Ambler and Gateway Nissan in Norristown prior to his retirement in 1999.   Louis A. DiNafo, Sr., of Upper Pottsgrove, died on Sunday, May 13, 2012 at his home.  He was the husband of Lori A. (Mazurek) DiNafo. He was born in Philadelphia to the late Angelo DiNalfo and Eleanor (Marano) Perri, of Media.  He worked for Mobile Lifts in Jeffersonville, PA for twenty-years, retiring in 2008.  He loved his Corvette and Lionel Trains.   In addition to his wife he is survived by his children: Louis A.
