Assault: On April 7 at 5:15 p.m., officers from the North Coventry Police Department responded to a reported domestic assault on the 1300 block of Temple Road. Upon arrival, police learned that a father and his 16-year-old son had gotten into an argument, which later became physical when the son allegedly punched his father in the head and struck him in the back with a lacrosse stick. Driver Throws Weed At Cops: According to a report in the Abington Patch, a 44-year-old man is facing drug charges after he allegedly threw a bag of marijuana at an officer during a traffic stop. When police asked the man what he did, he responded, "[Expletive], I can't believe I just threw weed at cops." The man also allegedly confessed to having "a little rock down [his] pants." Omar Miller, 26, was arrested by Pottstown Police after he allegedly assaulted a woman and stole her vehicle.
A Philadelphia man has been arrested in connection with Monday's reported carjacking at the Upland Square Shopping Center in West Pottsgrove. According to a report by Frank Otto at the Pottstown Mercury, 26-year-old Omar Miller, of Philadelphia, was taken into custody by the Pottstown Police after he was observed driving the reportedly carjacked vehicle on East King Street. The report states that Miller allegedly assaulted his present – or possibly former – girlfriend at the Sleepy's store in Upland Square, prior to driving off in her vehicle and leaving her behind. A Barto man is facing multiple charges after he allegedly struck his wife with a dog gate when she refused to succumb to his sexual advances. The incident was reported around 11:45 p.m. on December 28, when police from Douglass Township were dispatched to the home for a report of domestic violence. Upon arrival, the victim stated that her husband had entered the bedroom making unwanted advances toward her. Court records indicate the victim spurned her husband's advances, and attempted to exit the room and head for the basement. The husband then assaulted the victim by striking her with a dog gate, causing a four-inch laceration and significant bruising. A mother is facing nurmerous criminal charges after she was allegedly captured on video encouraging her daughter to fight another girl at the Citadel in Reading. According to a report by 69 News, Raquel Rosario, 43, was allegedly captured on video shouting words of encouragement to her daughter as she fought a girl outside of the Intermediate High School on January 3. Police allege that the girls sister, Precious Irizarry, 22, also encouraged the fight, which lead authorities to charge her, as well. A Pottstown man will serve the next nine-to-23 months in prison after pleading guilty to assaulting his pregnant girlfriend because dinner was not ready on time. According to a report in the Pottstown Mercury, Richard B. Gibson, 41, entered a guilty plea on charges of terroristic threats and recklessly endangering another person stemming from a March 2012 incident at his girlfriend's home. The report states that Gibson became angry when he arrived at the home and discovered that dinner was not ready, which lead him to punch the pregnant woman in the stomach. A 29-year-old Philadelphia man is charged with domestic assault following his Sunday morning arrest in Gerald Richards Park, the Sanatoga Post reports. Vern Nigel Goodwin was being held at the Montgomery County Correctional Facility after allegedly assaulting a woman at the Rolling Hills apartment complex on Buchert Road. Police responded to the complex in the pre-dawn hours on Sunday following a report of "an armed subject trying to gain entry into an apartment." Julian "Tone" Washington, 30, was sentenced to 5-to-10 years in a state prison for the aggravated assault of a 2-year-old boy in June of 2011.
A 30-year-old Pottstown man has been sentenced to serve five to ten years in a state prison, following a May conviction on charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, endangering the welfare of a child and endangering another person. According to a report in the Pottstown Mercury, Julian "Tone" Washington will serve a minimum of five years in prison for physically abusing a two-year-old boy left in his care on June 24, 2011. The victim, who was hospitalized with trauma to his neck, belonged to Washington's then-girlfriend, Brenda Rivas-Figueroa. “There was evidence presented at trial the child had pretty significant ligature marks all around his neck.
