Robbers Steal Local Man’s Guns, Truck at Gunpoint, Police Say

Two burglars allegedly approached the victim in masks as he was entering his home early Wednesday morning.

A 42-year-old man was threatened at gunpoint and bound in his basement of his Kutztown Road home in Upper Hanover while robbers stole guns and cash, according to the Pennsylvania State Police. When the victim, of the 2900 block of Kutztown Road, arrived home at 12:50 a.m. Wednesday, two men wearing black masks forced him inside the residence with a handgun, according to police. The victim was tied up in his basement while the two men rummaged through his residence, stealing an undisclosed amount of money and ten guns, including two pistols and eight long guns, police said. Police Seek Info on Daytime Burglary in Pottstown Section of New Hanover

In addition to requesting information on the burglary, police are urging residents to lock their homes and vehicles.

The New Hanover Township Police Department is seeking public assistance in obtaining information regarding a residential burglary that occurred yesterday on the 300 block of Moyer Road in the Pottstown section of the township. The request for assistance comes only days after police announced that they received numerous reports of thefts from vehicles in the Windy Hill development and the Kleman Road and Bow Lane area. Copper Thieves Repeatedly Strike Homes Owned by Boyertown Man, Police Say

Copper piping was stolen from two homes on the 100 block of Main Street in Trappe. Both homes are owned by a Boyertown man.

Two homes on the 100 block of Main Street in Trappe Borough were broken into a total of three times in the month of April, with copper piping being the target, according to the Pennsylvania State Police. As previously reported on Patch, individuals allegedly tried unsuccessfully to break into 133 West Main Street between April 11-13, but they did gain entrance to 135 West Main Street, both of which were owned by a Boyertown man. No items were reported stolen at the time, according to the police. Between 2 p.m. on April 19 and 11 p.m. on April 28, individuals gained entrance to one of the homes by breaking out a window on the rear door, police said. Pottstown Man Accepts Plea Deal in Burglary, Cocaine Charges

Local man will serve one-and-a-half to three years for crimes.

He accepted a plea bargain to reduce his sentance, but will still serve one-and-a-half to three years in a state correctional facility for burglary and cocaine sales. Steven Mitchell, 19, of the 500 block of Chestnut Street, was sentenced Monday in Montgomery County Court after he pleaded guilty to felony charges of burglary and possession with intent to deliver cocaine in connection with separate incidents that occurred between March and April 2012, according to the Pottstown Mercury. President Judge William J. Furber Jr. ordered Mitchell to complete two years’ probation and 36 hours of community service as part of the sentence as well as $2,200 in restitution in connection with the burglary charge from Dino's Groceries. Thieves Go 'Mission Impossible' on Pottstown Pharmacy, Police Say

Multiple men burglarized the Professional Pharmacy on North Charlotte Street Thursday morning, after successfully gaining access to the building through the roof.

Multiple men burglarized the Professional Pharmacy on North Charlotte Street Thursday morning, after successfully gaining access to the building through the roof. A report from the Pottstown Mercury indicates that police received a call from the pharmacy manager around 1:30 a.m., who stated that the men had broken in through the roof and stolen money from the cash register. The men then exited the building the same way they entered. Four Charged in Tri-County Burglary Spree

The suspects allegedly struck more than 25 single-family dwellings, using the victims' pillow cases to carry the stolen items, which frequently included cash, jewelry, electronics and guns.

Four Montco men have been arrested in connection with a summertime burglary spree that struck more than 25 single-family homes across the tri-county area. Between June 12 and July 23, state police allege that Jason Baldwin, 34, Fabrice Careme, 26, and Gregory Eagle, 29, all of Pottstown, as well as Patrick Brumbaugh, 20 of Lansdale, committed more than 25 day time burglaries throughout western Montgomery County, eastern Berks County and northern Chester County in June and July of this year. According to court documents, police responded to the residence for a report of a possible theft from an apartment. as well as a nearby vehicle. Witnesses stated that they allegedly saw a black male enter the residence and exit with a black bag. Upon exiting the apartment, the suspect allegedly stole a red power saw from a nearby pickup truck. Witnesses also stated that a white male was seen waiting nearby. Woman Sentenced for Crimes in Norristown and Pottstown

Madelyn Anderson, formerly of Pottstown and recently of Norristown, is headed to county jail for a series of crimes including a stabbing, a burglary and a DUI.

According to The Mercury, a woman with addresses in both Pottstown and Norristown, is headed to jail after pleading guilty to a series of crimes in both towns. Madelyn Anderson, 32, was sentenced to 11½ to 23 months on charges including simple assault, driving under the influence and burglary. Anderson reportedly stabbed her former boyfriend in the neck with a grilling fork during a dispute in April 2001 in their North Franklin Street home in Pottstown. The injury was reportedly serious, but not fatal and Anderson was ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $50,270 to Reading Hospital and Medical Center for her victim's treatment.
